Visit this historic theatre in downtown Indianapolis.
Fountain Square Theatre first opened on May 4, 1928, as a motion picture and vaudeville theatre. This was one of the places where people would gather to enjoy a night of entertainment. It was commonly referred to as the big light on the avenue back in the day. The fourth floor of the building eventually added a bowling alley. After years of restoration, this historic building hosts entertainment and various events throughout the year. You can also enjoy duckpin bowling in the basement of Fountain Square Theatre.
This part of Indianapolis was the first commercial historic district. If you walk along the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, you'll be able to see Fountain Square Theatre. On the other side of the theatre, you can also go to the bar and game room. It opens daily at 5 pm and has billiard tables, dartboards, pinball machines, air hockey, and more. Menu items at the bar include pizza, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and delicious appetizers. Hang out in Fountain Square with your friends and family if you're ever in Indianapolis.
