Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area is a great spot in eastern Arizona, just outside of the town of Show Low. Bring your friends and family and enjoy a daytime outing or book a campsite and spend multiple days at the lake. There is so much to do on the lake, and they have plentiful places to have a picnic. Paved walking trails and unpaved hiking trails offer visitors different options to explore the outdoors. Some campsites have hookup options, and all of the roads and RV sites are paved, clean, and spacious. Fool Hollow Lake is ideal for fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Both motorized and non-motorized watercraft are welcome on the lake, and visitors can swim from the boat or the shore.
In 1885, a man named Thomas Jefferson Adair settled in the area and intended to farm. Many locals thought it would be foolish to farm on that land, and the name stuck; that's why this lake was named Fool Hollow Lake. The park is open year-round, and the day use areas are available daily from 8 AM to 8 PM. This is a popular place, so reserve your campsite in advance. You won't want to miss out on the Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area; it's the perfect place to cool off in eastern Arizona.
