See one of the highest waterfalls in West Virginia.
Cathedral Falls is a beautiful 60-foot cascading waterfall located in the West Virginia mountains. This waterfall is a must-see photogenic spot. The parking lot is relatively small and can fill up quickly, especially in the summer and after a rainstorm. Several natural pools are nearby, which you are welcome to wade in to cool off in the summer. These pools are about two to three feet deep on average, and visitors usually see lots of butterflies around the pools.
There are several large flat rocks to sit on, providing ideal spots to read a book or soak up the sunshine. Visitors will find a few tables and benches in the area, making this an excellent place for a picnic. After arriving at the parking lot, a short trail leads to the falls via a small walking bridge. Soak in the sights and sounds of nature at Cathedral Falls. Most visitors plan for a quick stop but end up staying longer because this place is so peaceful and scenic. Be sure to visit Cathedral Falls while driving through West Virginia.
