Waterfalls, hiking trails, and wildlife are waiting for you in this wonderful urban park.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park is located between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Be sure to check out the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail is a restored section of the canal's original towpath. Head north to the Canal Exploration Center, which details the 19th-century waterway’s history. Towering Brandywine Falls is one of several waterfalls you can hike to and photograph. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad also runs through the park and is a family-friendly attraction.
Even though it is a short distance from Cleveland and Akron, Cuyahoga Valley National Park seems worlds away. The park is a refuge for native plants and wildlife such as deer, chipmunks, squirrels, coyotes, raccoons, beavers, bats, and minks. Throughout the park, the Cuyahoga River provides water and food to several creatures. This winding river runs through deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands. Visitors are welcome to walk or bike down the Towpath Trail. Another neat place to see is the Everett Covered Bridge, which was built in the 1800s. Spend quality time with your family and friends at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
