Soak up the sun at this southern California beach.
Bolsa Chica State Beach is located north of Huntington Beach, commonly referred to as Surf City USA. If you need a more secluded area that feels less "touristy," this beach is superior to Huntington Beach. You can also visit Bolsa Chica's Ecological Reserve for wildlife watching, birding, hiking, and biking paths by going right across the Pacific Coast Highway. Please note that leashed dogs are only allowed on the bike path; you cannot walk them on the sand.
This beach has several parking lots lining the sand, and there is a designated paved RV campground as well. Tents are not allowed, but campers with RVs up to 40 feet long are welcome at Bolsa Chica Beach. Park hours are 6 am to 10 pm daily, and the gates close promptly at 9 pm. If you love the beach, consider adding Bolsa Chica State Beach to your southern California itinerary.
