This immaculate 10,000 square foot mansion features Italianate Victorian architecture. It has 16 rooms, 3 stories, and was built in just one year, from 1874 to 1875. Inside, you will see many of Benjamin Harrison's paintings and personal artifacts. His family members lived in the home until 1913. Docent-led tours allow guests to learn the history of the building and about Benjamin Harrison and his family. One interesting fact is that Benjamin Harrison is the only U.S. president from Indiana (so far).
Tours of the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site are available via online pre-registration. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 3:30 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 3:30 pm. Tours are free for children 4 and under and up to $12 for adults. It is closed on all major federal holidays and on certain days when candlelight theatre performances are scheduled.
