Nauset Lighthouse

This legendary lighthouse was built in 1877 and is one of the main symbols of Cape Cod.

Arguably the most iconic depiction of Cape Cod, the Nauset Lighthouse was built in 1877 and stands at 48-feet tall on the beautiful New England coastline. Part of the Cape Code National Seashore, this historic red-and-white striped tower was moved to its current location in 1923 to protect it from the eroding shoreline. In 2004, the Nauset Light Preservation Society signed an agreement to continue to operate the lighthouse as a private navigational aid.
