A perfect place for fishing and camping.
Open since 1936, visit Myrtle Beach State Park and enjoy the beach, fishing off the pier, camping, and more at South Carolina's beloved oceanfront park. This popular park is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm from March to November and from 6 pm to 8 pm during the off-season. A popular activity to do is catch fish or go crabbing near the pier. A variety of fish can be found here, including flounder, king mackerel, whiting, trout, and more. Fishing pier passes must be purchased before you can fish from the pier; however, a state fishing license is not required unless you fish from the shore.
This is a great place for a day trip or family outing. There are a couple of playgrounds for the kids and several places to find geocaches to keep them entertained. Take the sculptured oak nature trail to see an old maritime forest and catch a glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean during your stay. If you choose to sleep overnight in one of the cabins, please note that pets are not allowed in the cabins. They are allowed in most areas (besides the beach) throughout the year, as long as they remain leashed. Horseback riding on the beach is allowed during the off-season with the purchase of an equestrian permit. Enjoy spending time at the Myrtle Beach State Park the next time you're in South Carolina.
