See a 19th-century ghost town in central Nevada.
Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park is a peculiar place in central Nevada. This park features an old gold mining town built in the 1890s, which was deserted less than 20 years later. Visitors love to explore the ghost town, admire the desert landscapes, and watch wildlife within this vast 1,540-acre park. Keep an eye out for jackrabbits, bluebirds, gophers, and various lizards. Another remarkable feature of the park is the remains of multiple ichthyosaur fossils. Ichthyosaurs were a type of underwater dinosaur that once lived here 225 million years ago. About 40 ichthyosaur specimens were excavated here. Head to the fossil house to take time to look at these incredible aquatic dinosaurs.
This park is always open and has 14 campsites available year-round. Some of the campsites can accommodate RVs up to 25 feet long. Each site can hold up to eight people and has fire rings, grills, covered tables, and nearby restrooms. If you love the great outdoors, be sure to add Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park to your Nevada bucket list.
