Visit an open-air pioneer village with shops and original homes from the 19th century.
The Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum is situated in the Black Rock foothills in northern Phoenix, Arizona. This historic place encompasses 90 acres and features 30 historical original and reconstructed buildings dating back to the 1800s and early 1900s. Visitors can walk the paved paths leading to 19th-century buildings and see some of the original homes of people that helped tame the Wild West, including the childhood log cabin where Arizona's first senator grew up.
There are some amazing antiques displayed in the reproduced blacksmith shop, carpenter shop, and dress shop. Visitors will also see volunteers dressed in period costumes walking throughout the village. Visiting this village is like stepping back in time and seeing what Territorial Arizona was like during its heyday. Admission to the museum includes the Pioneer Village plus the Telephone History Museum off I-17, near Anthem, Arizona.
